Early Career Library Award

Eligibility

The SLA Early Career Librarian Award is an award of merit for outstanding service to libraries by someone who has made a contribution to the library profession in Saskatchewan during the first five years of their career. This award is open to individuals and not restricted to professional librarians or members of SLA.

To be eligible for the SLA Early Career Librarian Award, a nominator must provide the following:

  1. Have several examples of evidence of providing outstanding service to libraries, institutions, or groups in Saskatchewan as provided by at least one Letter of Nomination from a nominator.
  2. Nominator(s) will also include nominee’s CV or Resume to accompany the Nomination Letter.
  3. Nominator(s) must be (a) member(s) of SLA.

How to Submit a Nomination

Nomination submissions are to be made to the SLA Office through the online application form or by email to info@saskla.ca.

The Awards Sub-Committee issues calls for nominations from SLA members and establishes submission deadlines. Nominations usually open January 1 and close March 1 annually. All nominations will be reviewed by the SLA Awards Sub-Committee.

Morgan Kelly is the 2025 recipient of the Early Career Librarian Award!

Morgan Kelly is SLA’s Vice President of Advocacy and Development, and has been involved with SLA on several committees since 2021. In addition to her role with SLA, Morgan is also  the Community Services Manager for Southeast Regional Library. Her work includes region-wide programming initiatives such as TD Summer Reading Club, Saskatchewan Library Week, and Saskatchewan Aboriginal Storytelling Month, as well as the development of regional resource kits.
